1932

From Malayan Breweries Limited in Singapore, the world’s first batch of Tiger Beer greets the world with a refreshing beer for a tropical climate.

1937

The Royal Air Force pays homage to the iconic Tiger Beer logo with a Tiger-inspired insignia of its own.

1939

In its 7th year, Tiger Beer emerges victorious with its first international beer medal, which would be joined by 40 other international beer awards in the years to come.

1940s

INGENUITY TO OVERCOME ALL ODDS

Through the difficulty and turmoil of the war years, Tiger emerged as a strong innovator and a lager of regional significance.

1942

Allied servicemen stationed in Singapore cultivate a taste for Tiger, bringing the taste for this soldier's beer to the region and beyond.

1945

Tiger greets post-WWII shortage with the light and delicious Tiger Cub, quenching thirst till the return of the full-strength brew.

1950s

A NATIONAL ICON RISES

World-acclaimed from its early years, Tiger took up the cause to stand for courage, grace and a newfound freedom.

1954

Tiger Beer comes of age, winning its first-ever gold medal at the Commonwealth Bottled Beer Competition.

1965

Against the exciting backdrop of Singapore emerging as an independent nation, Tiger Beer launches its first canned beer.

1973

As a nation rises through good times and bad, Tiger debuts its first television commercial for the Singapore market, showing Tiger Beer as an unshakeable beer for an unshakeable people — a call to arms for people to keep pushing boundaries without giving up.

1980s


EXPLORER OF UNCHARTERED WATER

Growing in confidence by the decade, Tiger ventured farther afield into new markets and frontiers, continually embracing new challenges.

1981

Tiger Beer makes its first appearance in the ultra-competitive markets of the UK and Germany.

ACCLAIMED THE WORLD OVER

As Tiger continues to sweep accolades on global fronts, it pushes boundaries further in defining the modern Asian lager.

1990

Asia Pacific Breweries (the new name of Tiger Beer's parent company) migrates Tiger Beer production to a new, state-of-the-art brewery, built to the tune of S$200 million.


1993

Following regional forays into Oceania begun two years earlier, Tiger Beer heeds the call of opportunity in Vietnam and China. It proves a move of extraordinary prescience, with China forecast as the largest beer market in the world by 2017.


1998

Tiger’s ascent into global consciousness maintains its steady clip as Tiger Beer wins the BIIA’s World’s Best Lager Beer award.


2000s

ROARING INTO THE 21ST CENTURY

Following regional forays into Oceania begun two years earlier, Tiger Beer heeds the call of opportunity in Vietnam and China. It proves a move of extraordinary prescience, with China forecast as the largest beer market in the world by 2017.


2001

Tiger increases its foothold in the Asia Pacific with acquisitions, expansions and new breweries in Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka, China, Mongolia and India.


2004

The Gold Medal at the prestigious World Beer Cup comes home with Tiger Beer to great fanfare.


2007

By the year of Tiger Beer’s 75th anniversary, its operations span 30 breweries in 12 countries, and its beers line shelves in over 60 countries.


2014

Tiger embarks on a new direction, throwing down the gauntlet and inviting young Asians to Uncage, a move that launches Tiger into the future with a roar.
